Capt. Red Entertainment has evolved since it's early beginnings in 2007. Following an almost 15 year stint as an elected town councillor for the Town of Edson, Alberta, Canada, Carlo Klemm needed to occupy some spare time with something meaningful.
Capt. Red Entertainment is headed by the big guy himself, Santa Edson, who enjoys the time at the end of the year to produce smiles on the faces of children and adults alike. A traditional Santa, he sports a real leather belt and boots that jingle as he walks, Santa Edson also has several Santa suits including an old fashioned one to help relive the early days. A walking candy cane cane and a twinkle in his eye, completes the rotund look that doesn't need any extra padding.
Adding to the Santa character is St. Nicholas, with whom the legend of Santa originated. Dressed as the character of the Bishop of Myra, St. Nicholas can be on hand for the December 5/6 events surrounding the man, and also for the Orthodox Christmas observed January 7th or at any time that the more religious look is wanted.
Another segment of Capt. Red Entertainment is that of the Capt. as a balloon animal twister. Available for special events and for birthday parties, you never know what shape those balloons will take. Requests are fulfilled where possible.
Added this year is Herbert The Clown, for those times when the dressed up clown is more wanted than the formal look of Capt. Red. With his distinctive blue hair, Herbert The Clown always has a smile on his face when twisting those long balloons. And you never know, a little slight of hand can keep that "wow" factor going, especially for the youngsters.
Added to the group in 2011 was Capt. Red - Organ Grinder. Capt. Red has the only street organ of it's kind in Alberta and plays at Farmer's Markets and fairs. More info on Capt. Red-organ grinder is at http://captred.weebly.com/
